Oh, it's been much, much too long since I posted a Seven Things list!
Uno. I love the way the snow makes ugly things look artistic. Like this rusty fence and moss-covered wall, for example.
Dos. I love the Staten Island Children's Museum Free Admission for President’s Day
Northfield Bank Foundation Cool School Holiday on Monday the 15th, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. My kids love the Pirate Ship in the Block Harbor exhibit.
Tres. Brooklyn Brainery's $25 collaborative classes take adult education to a whole new place. Check out peer-led classes like Beauty School Dropout, Applied Meteorology and the oh-so-popular Meat and be way cooler than your cubicle-mates. Registration starts this week.
Cuatro. February is Black History Month. I love Black History Month! On Sunday, while visiting Baltimore, the sermon at our old church (love ya CUMC!) was given by a man whose contribution to the Civil Rights movement inspired the descendants of Harriet Tubman to bequeath him her cane. That right there is amazing. If you want some sharable info, click over to AfricanAmericanHistoryMonth.gov. And check out the Biography Channel's extensive line-up of Notable Black Icons. It's fascinating stuff.
Cinco. February 17 is Random Acts of Kindness Day. What's not to love about that? To get involved, go to ActsofKindness.org.
So, Seven Things I Love in February. (At least right now, lol.) Enjoy.
